We’re excited to announce that JF Outdoor Adventures is now offering kayak hire with full delivery and pick-up service, making it easier than ever to enjoy a day — or even a few days — paddling along the beautiful River Thames.

Whether you’re an experienced paddler or trying kayaking for the first time, our new hire option means you can focus on the fun, while we handle the logistics. Simply choose your route and dates — we’ll deliver your kayak to your chosen starting point and collect it at the end of your trip. No trailers, no roof racks, no hassle!

The Thames is one of England’s most scenic rivers, and with so many sections to choose from, there’s something for everyone — from peaceful countryside to historic towns and charming riverside pubs.

Here are a few of our favourite routes to inspire your next adventure:

🛶 Cricklade to Castle Eaton

Perfect for beginners or a short family trip, this gentle 5-mile stretch has no locks and takes around 2–3 hours to paddle through tranquil open countryside.

🛶 Lechlade to Radcot

A classic stretch with plenty to see — about 9 miles, 3–4 hours of paddling, and two locks along the way (St John’s and Buscot). Expect pretty scenery and a few cosy riverside stops.

🛶 Newbridge to Northmoor Lock

A lovely, easy-going 5-mile route with one lock. Paddle through peaceful meadows and finish your trip at a historic riverside inn — perfect for a well-earned refreshment.

We supply all the gear you need for a safe and enjoyable day on the water — just bring a sense of adventure (and for chillier days, we recommend packing a dry suit and warm clothes to change into after your paddle).
